Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now officially the highest-grossing film of all-time at the US box office. The Force Awakens' US total stands at $761 million, outpacing Jurassic World ($652.3 million), Titanic ($658.7 million), and Avatar ($760.6 million). Avatar had held the No. 1 spot for six years before The Force Awakens dethroned it today.

Astonishingly, The Force Awakens needed just 20 days to reach the gross that Avatar took 318 days to accomplish, according to a box office report today from Deadline.

Star Wars 7 Passes Avatar at U.S. Box Office

Avatar still leads the global box office stakes with $2.8 billion box office worldwide. The Force Awakens is number four globally with $1.55 billion. The film opens in China on January 9, 2016.
